Pina Colada is a favorite for many women around the world, so much that it’s often called girls’ drink. So, let’s channel that love into this recipe and prepare a pina colada inspired body butter.

This is a very simple and easy recipe and can be prepared from ingredients that most of us will have when into DIY. You might need to buy one or two items at most, the rest are either in your pantry, or part of your DIY raw materials stash. Let’s take a look at the recipe.

Ingredients

Jojoba Oil – 3 Tbsp.

Olive Oil – 3 Tbsp.

Honey – 2 Tbsp.

Beeswax – ¾ Tbsp.

Shea Butter – 8 Tbsp.

Pineapple Flavor – 16 Drops

Coconut Flavor – 7 Drops

Lemon Essential Oil – 7 Drops

Instructions

Add beeswax and Shea butter to your double boiler and let it melt.

When it begins to melt add olive oil and honey to it.

Remove from heat when fully melted and combined.

Add jojoba oil and the food flavors and mix well to combine.

Refrigerate the mixture for a good 25 minutes or more – the texture of the mixture should turn opaque but not hard.

Blend it with your hand blender for a few minutes on medium – high, usually 7 – 10 minutes.

Continue whisking till the body butter is fully whipped and peaks begin to form.

Transfer to a sterilized container.

Done!

(**Flavors vary in strength and grade. I used ones with mild flavor and natural flavoring extracts. Artificial or stronger flavors need less than the recommended quantity. So add as you go, like always)

How to Use the Body Butter?

Take a dollop of the body butter and massage to cleansed skin. Little goes a long way with body butters – so don’t be lavish with the body butter. Also, applying it when skin is slightly damp and massaging it in helps with absorption. You can use it once daily, or as needed.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use Coconut Oil or Sweet Almond Oil or other carrier oils depending on your skin type. Apricot Oil, Sesame Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Soybean Oil, etc.

Food Flavorings are option and can be avoided if you prefer. It just gives the extra incentive when you’re not in the mood and the smell can uplift you and push to apply it all over and roll with it!

You can use any body butter including Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Cupacu Butter, Kokum Butter, etc.

You can substitute flavors with essential oils if you’re not a fan of pina colada flavor!

Shelf Life

It lasts a few months, so prepare smaller batch for lasting freshness and aroma.

You don’t have to refrigerate this – if you refrigerate the lush whipped consistency is compromised. So keep it room temperature.
