Nowadays, smoothies are a rage for health care, weight loss, detox and more. This is just adding a little help from the surface of and for your skin. This is a comprehensive skin treatment – nourishing, moisturizing and cleansing pack. It will leave your skin feeling fresh, smooth and supple. Let’s learn how to prepare this body mask, shall we?

Ingredients

Spinach Leaves – a handful

Parsley Leaves – a handful

Chopped Cucumber – 1 Cup

Chopped Mushroom – 1 Cup

Holy Basil Leaves – a handful

Kaolin Clay – 6 Tsps.

ACV – 1 Tbsp.

Jojoba Oil – 1 Tbsp.

Honey – 1 Tsp.

Instructions

Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste – except Jojoba Oil.

You can add Jojoba Oil to the mask, especially if you have sensitive or dry skin. I prefer adding oil, as I don’t like the tight skin puling or dry feeling that comes after using a pack.

How to Use the Pack?

You can use more or less clay depending on the consistency and requirement.

Apply the pack all over your skin – I just apply with my fingers though a brush makes it easier sometimes.

Leave it on for about 25 minutes.

Wrap an old cloth, towel or plastic wrap so you can relax while you soak in and wait.

Rinse and apply Coconut Oil while your skin is still damp.

Why These Ingredients?

All the ingredients listed above are natural and nutrient-rich. We have most of these ingredients as a smoothie for nourishment and detox and they’re not new. The only difference here is we’re applying them on the skin directly. While consuming it helps more than we could ever imagine, external care and treatment play a role in skin care. Together these ingredients nourish, cleanse and rejuvenate the skin, leaving it feeling pampered and revived.

Important Points to Remember

If you’re allergic any of these ingredients listed, avoid them.

Make sure to clean them thoroughly before chopping or adding to your mixer. I prefer washing my veggies, greens, fruits and other foodstuffs in water mixed with a spoon each of turmeric and sea salt. I let them sit for a few minutes before washing them and taking them out to chop. Make sure to rinse once after, if you use turmeric and salt mixture to cleanse them. It is said that this mixture gets rid of microbes and toxic ingredients from the food.

Those who are wary of using raw mushroom use dried ones or skip mushrooms.

For those with sensitive skin or other skin allergies and issues, it’s a good idea to do a spot test before applying this or any pack on the skin – even if you consume these foodstuffs.
