DIY Coffee Gel for dark Circles

Want to know how to get rid of those dark circles naturally? You’ve probably tried many things already, but this one of the easiest and effective ways to do it.

Many of us love coffee. Coffee lovers will clearly agree the day doesn’t start till having a cup of coffee. So, you probably have ground coffee – both used and fresh.

Aloe Vera Gel is pretty easy to get anywhere and these are the only two ingredients we’re going to use here. Want to know what to do?

Ingredients

Coffee Grounds – 1 Tbsp.
Aloe Vera Gel – 1 Tbsp.

Instructions

Use the coffee grounds to brew a cup of coffee and then transfer the grounds to a mixing bowl.

Now add the Aloe Vera Gel to it and mix well.

Done!

Shelf Life

Refrigerate the mixture to make it last longer, or just prepare batches, as you need them.

I keep it in the fridge for a week at most. Haven’t tried longer than that.

How to Use the Gel?

Just massage the skin under your eyes gently with the gel. Rinse off after 10 – 15 minutes. Do this twice daily till dark circles fade away.

Why These Ingredients?

Caffeine in coffee shrinks the blood vessels in turn reducing the dark circles.

Aloe Vera is a soothing and hydrating agent that promotes healing and is also rich in Vitamin E.

Combined with Coffee, Aloe can get rid of dark circles and also leaves the skin rejuvenated.

Besides dark circles, this also brings down puffy eyes.

With regular use, skin will feel better, tighter and rejuvenated. What’s not to like about it?

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use fresh coffee grounds, or used grounds. I have always used grounds as they work well. However, when you don’t have coffee grounds, a spoon of instant coffee works too.

You can add a few drops of Almond Oil to this, though I found the consistency of the gel easy enough without it.

You can also add a few drops of Cucumber Juice to this.

I soak a few Jasmine buds in water overnight and add that too. Or, I apply this water after using this gel. Helps speed up the process and doesn’t hurt that Jasmine smells really good ☺

Like every other recipe, feel free to do your own tweaks and changes to this recipe. After why DIY if you can’t really tweak the recipe around, isn’t it? I like to experiment with recipes and try different things every other time I prepare them. Keeps DIY interesting too.

If you come up with good tweaks, write that too – we can add it on here ☺ Feel free to write back to us if you have any questions, concerns or queries.
