Perfumes make a dull day better and can uplift your mood when you really need a pepping up. Perfumes as widely used but not many know they’re super easy to prepare and can be stored for ages.

Have you tried making perfumes before? This is a very simple and versatile perfume recipe. It’s a solid perfume and keeps for long once you get it done. So, ready for the recipe?

Ingredients

Shea Butter – 1 Oz

Jojoba Oil – 15 Ml

Myrrh Essential Oil – 7 Drops

Lavender Essential Oil – 3 Drops

Lemon Essential Oil – 4 Drops

Instructions

Melt Shea Butter in a double boiler when fully melted, remove from heat.

Add in Jojoba Oil and mix to combine.

Let it cool down.

When it is almost fully cooled down add Myrrh Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil and lavender Essential OIl to the mixture and stir.

Once combined, transfer to dispensers and let it set.

Done!

How to Use it?

Nothing special. Just rub the balm to disperse the flavors and aroma – apply on warm areas like underarm, pulse points, behind the ears, etc.

Why Solid Perfume Balm?

It’s easy to make and simple to store or use. It keeps on the shelf longer and is ideal when you don’t want to use alcohol and don’t mind using a balm for adding some fragrance and variety every other day 😉

It is also very simple to make – you onee a solid base, one softening ingredient like oil and an ingredient to add aroma – essential oils. You can keep it that simple and straightforward. What’s not to like about it?

Shelf Life

As mentioned earlier this lasts long – as long as you want it. Just make sure to check the expiry dates of the ingredients to get an idea of the expiry date. I prepare smaller balms – use small molds and often use different fragrances in each.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use any solid base – Cocoa Butter, Kokum Butter, Beeswax, Mango Butter, etc. The oil – butter or oil – wax or oil – butter – wax ratio might vary depending on the butter and or wax properties. You can try different proportions and see what works for you best.

You can use any light oil like Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Oil, Apricot Oil, etc. You can also use Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, etc based on your preferences, requirement and availability. The ratio of oil – butter and or wax may differ based on the oil used.

You can use any fragrant essential oil of your choice – this is a perfume and fragrance is what makes this recipe a winner – so choose what you like, to make it more personalized. Try out with different combinations, you never know, you might come up with one that works wonders for you.
