Want soft and supple skin everyday? Try this easy ad natural Eye Serum to wake up with fresh and younger looking eyes, everyday.
Gone are the days where businesses had a conscious and did what was good for their business and also for the customers. Nowadays, increasingly more products are nothing but piled up chemicals and a lot of hidden carcinogens.
DIY is one way to go natural with your skin care and beauty products. It is often affordable and a lot safer than the costly and fancy bottles off the shelves that claim to be natural, or organic but are loaded with ingredients that you hardly know. Here’s an easy eye serum you should try.
Ingredients
Sweet Almond Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tsp.
Castor Oil – ½ Tbsp.
Argan Oil – 1 Tsp.
Carrot Seed Oil – 1 Tsp.
Evening Primrose Oil – ½ Tsp.
Rose Essential Oil – 7 Drops
Instructions
Add all the ingredients to a dark glass amber bottle and shake gently.
Set aside for a day or two before you begin to use it.
Done!
How to Use the Serum?
Take few drops of the serum and apply it under your eyes, or your skin – yes, you can use this serum for your face.
If you are applying under or around your eyes, use your middle finger as the pressure exerted is lesser compared to your index finger.
Make sure your strokes are soft around your eyes and you use upward circular motion when applying on your face or neck.
Use this every night before you hit the bed.
Apply the serum after cleansing for best results.
Shelf life
You can keep this for a few weeks – months, depending on the ingredients you use and their shelf life.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can skip the Rose Essential Oil or swap it for a different essential oil of you choice – Frankincense, Myrrh, Geranium, Vetiver, Lavender or even Rosehip Essential Oil are good anti-ageing options.
You can also choose essential oils based on the aroma like for example Sandalwood, Sweet marjoram, Ylang Ylang, etc. They’re soothing and make you calm and ready for sleep.
You can use any carrier oil(s) of you choice – I prefer Sweet Almond Oil as it is light, very nutritious and also a great anti-ageing aid.
Depending on your skin type you can also choose between Avocado Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Hazelnut Oil, jojoba Oil, etc.
Rosehip Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Tamanu Oil, etc. are other additions you can consider.
If you prefer cream consistency, you can add Shea or Cocoa Butters.
If you don’t mind emulsifying you can add hydrosols or water-based ingredients for better results – green tea, aloe vera gel, glycerin, rose water, etc.
