DIY Tangerine Face Wash

Face wash is a necessity these days what with pollution and other factors wreaking havoc and leaving behind residue on our skin.

There are times when a mere lukewarm water wash or normal ways of cleansing don’t help. That’s where foamy face washes can do the trick. They take care of those stubborn or tough residue, pollutants, remnants of waterproof makeup and more.

I realized we have never covered a face wash in here and that’s just not right. So, as per your requests, here’s the first one in the many face wash recipes we will get to learn.

Ingredients

Liquid Castile Soap – 30 Ml

Lavender Essential Oil – a few drops

Tangerine Essential Oil – a few drops

Jojoba Oil – a few drops

Distilled Water – 90 Ml

Instructions

To a soap sterilized dispenser, add all the above given ingredients.

Shake gently to combine and let it sit for a day before you use it.

Done!

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can also use Olive Oil or Argan Oil according to your preference. In fact, any other carrier oil including Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Coconut Oil, Sesame Oil, Soya Oil, etc. will work. Choose the one that’s best for your skin and requirements.

You can add a few drops of Vitamin E Oil if you prefer.

You can also use castile soap for this recipe instead of Liquid Castile Soap. If you are using the bar, grate it and then mix distilled water to dissolve it for this recipe.

You can use any essential oil, or a combination of essential oils and a blend of your choice.

For those who don’t want to use castile soap, soap nuts are a good natural substitute.

How to Use the Recipe?

Rinse your face and neck. Take a small dollop of this face and gently massage this to your face and neck. Wash off with tepid water.

Alternatively, you can also take this face wash on a cotton pad and apply it on your face and neck. Wipe off or rinse off.

This way or that, don’t forget to follow-up with toning and moisturization.

Shelf Life

This usually lasts good for a few weeks if not more as we use Distilled Water. However, if you find a change in the smell of the face wash or questionable changes, discard the batch and start afresh.

Refrigeration gives this recipe a longer shelf life but more than that, the chillness when using it on your face refreshes you. Also, the chillness seems to shrink pores. So, it’s worth a shot.

Why These Ingredients?

It’s natural and mild.

This works as good as a commercial face wash without all the toxins and chemicals.

The resulting recipe will be more suited and designed for your skin and preferences as you made it yourself with ingredients of your choice.
