Starting an anti-ageing regimen in mid-late thirties or even late twenties depending on your skin requirements is a must.

Growing old can be graceful and you don’t have to allow your skin to look worn and wrung out. You can protect, repair and rejuvenate your skin to not only look younger but also remain healthy even with age. That’s exactly what anti-ageing ingredients do.

This is a face serum that’s also moisturizing and keeps ageing skin signs at bay. Do you know graying hair is often a sign of ageing unless it is premature? I wanted a simple recipe that works well for anti-ageing and here’s the result of my search and experiments. Ready for the recipe?

Ingredients

Aloe Vera Gel – 1 Tbsp.
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tsp.
Argan Oil – 1 Tsp.
Glycerine – ½ Tbsp.
Frankincense Essential Oil – 7 Drops

Instructions

Remove the Aloe Vera Gel from the leaf and beat it in your blender with a dash of Vitamin C powder and Vitamin E Oil. Instead, you can use organic Aloe Vera off the shelves to make it easier.

Add the Aloe Vera Gel to a dark glass amber jar along with other ingredients and give it a good shake.

Done!

How to Use the Serum?

Shake well to make sure the ingredients are combined well. Take a few drops of the serum and apply on your face and neck at night. Massage for a few seconds with upward and circular strokes to help the serum get absorbed into the skin.

Shelf Life

It lasts for as long as you want, when you refrigerate it. You can prepare larger or smaller batches as per your convenience.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

I like Argan Oil for this recipe – it is anti-ageing and very light. It is also very nourishing and rejuvenating. However, other anti-ageing oils can work well like Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, etc.

Depending on your skin type you can also use Avocado Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Olive Oil, etc.

You can use any essential oil for aroma, though I prefer going with the ones that come with anti-ageing benefits like Lavender, Myrrh, Frankincense, Helichrysum, etc.

You can also use Infused Oils or other Hydrosols like Rose Water to this recipe along with or instead of Glycerin. But Glycerin gives good results being an emollient and makes your skin soft and supple.

For those allergic to Aloe Vera you can go with Shea Butter though the consistency will be more of a cream than serum.

Honey is another alternative you can consider if you’re allergic to Aloe Vera or don’t prefer it.
