DIY Coffee Foot Scrub

Just like hands, feet tend to go through a lot and easily looks the worn out part compared to other parts of your body.

Few areas are more prone to wrinkles and wear and tear than other parts and feet certainly qualifies. So, I wanted a scrub for picking up my tired and worn feet, while also giving it the much needed pampering and attention.

After all, our feet take us everywhere we need to go. We need our feet not only for walking and running; it is an integral part of our body. In reflexology, like hands, feet have a key role and massaging your feet is said to help activate our internal organs.

So, the scrub is another way to give your feet attention, pampering and some TLC! Is it not? Show your feet some coffee love, especially if you love coffee 😉 I always feel bad when throwing away the grounds. This is just another recipe so I don’t have to throw away those grounds and feel better while using it on myself.

Ingredients

Coffee Grounds – ¼ Cup
Olive Oil – ½ Cup
Vanilla Essence – 1 Tsp.

Instructions

Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl.

Mix to combine.

Done!

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use fresh grounds, though I always use used coffee from my filter. Fresh ground coffee offers a better pick me up than used coffee.

You can use any aroma you like instead of Vanilla Essence or Extract here.

You can also add some walnut hull powder or other exfoliating agents to this recipe.

You can use any carrier oil including Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Groundnut Oil, etc.

You can also use Aloe Gel in this recipe.

If you don’t want to use oil and want a cream base, you can heat up coconut milk till you get the cream consistency and use it instead. This will give you the slide when you do the massage.

However, you can also use Aloe Vera Gel, or even Hydrosols for the scrub. Try out different variations and see what works for you. I have liked both cream and oil base, but cream base I reserve for pampering.

How to Use the Scrub?

Soak your feet in warm water for a few minutes after washing it.

Now, gently massage with this scrub and let it sit for a couple of minutes.

Wash off for soft, fresh and smooth feet.

You can do this once a week for soft feet.
