Oil for Healthy Skin

Instructions

In a sterilized jar, add all the ingredients.

Shake the jar gently and close it.

Let it sit for two days before you start using it.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

I have chosen Coconut Oil because it works for most skin types, is affordable and available anywhere. It is also an excellent moisturizer and protects skin. But, you can use any carrier oil you like or prefer. Avocado is ideal for ageing skin, Sweet Almond Oil for sensitive skin, Jojoba Oil for acne-prone skin, Olive Oil for Dry Skin, etc.

Essential Oils are usually for aroma and the benefits they offer. I chose Sandalwood, Lavender and Frankincense for their benefits. If you have dry skin, swap Sandalwood Oil for Chamomile Essential Oil. All these oils are good for rejuvenating, calming, soothing and clearing one’s skin.

You can also use a combination of carrier oils if you like for adding a twist to the recipe and gain more benefits from the recipe.

Why Use Body Oil?

We already know skin needs constant care and nurturing. Using body oil is one way to nourish, moisturize and protect your skin. This is a very simple and straightforward recipe aimed to suit most, though tweak according to your skin type, requirements and preference for better results.

How to Use It?

I usually use this right after my shower in the morning to replenish lost moisture and restore skin’s sheen and shine. I take adequate quantity in one of my palms, rub palms together to warm up the oil and apply to skin in gentle circular motions. Massaging for a few minutes enhances the benefits of the oil and also relaxes and calms your mind and body.

However, you can use it anytime you prefer and depending on what carrier oils you choose (viscosity, thickness, stain quotient, etc.) apply it in the morning or at night before retiring.
