Anti-Ageing Tips from India Part III

A country of rich culture, heritage and history, India is often cited as an example for many things especially traditional medicine. Here are few tips followed in this Asian Subcontinent for centuries.

We’ve seen a few packs in our previous two posts. Here’s more to add to the list.

Glycerin & Lemon Pack

Take ½ Tbsp. of Rose Water, ¼ Tsp. Glycerin and Juice from ½ Lemon. Mix together and apply the mixture to your face and neck using cotton wool.

Leave it over night and rinse off in the morning. Now only will this lighten tan and blemishes, it is a pack with astounding anti-ageing benefits. It is extremely rejuvenating, improves blood circulation and blemishes and also, reduces puffiness of eyes. You can do this once or twice a week.

Sugarcane Pack

Take ¼ Tsp. of Turmeric Powder along with ¼ Cup of Sugarcane Juice and mix well. Apply this mask to your face and neck and wait for 7 – 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. If you want to close the open pores, splash cold water after.

You can do this twice a week. Rich in Glycolic Acid, which is the key ingredient in
alpha hydroxy acid in chemical peels, this mask exfoliates the skin and promotes collagen secretion.

Coconut Milk Mask

Take the milk from a few pieces of Coconut – you need about ¼ Cup or less of Coconut Milk. Using a cotton wool, apply the milk to your face and neck after cleansing. Wait for 25 minutes before rinsing off with cold water. You can do up to 3 times a week.

Coconut is known for its anti-ageing properties, being rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. What’s not to like about it – also, feel free to drink up the remaining milk 😉

Pineapple Mask

Take a slice of Pineapple – a ripe one works best. Rub the slice on your skin and let it sit for 7 – 10 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water. You can do this 2 – 3 times for a week.

Rich in micronutrients and phytochemicals Pineapple can fight ageing skin signs and the Vitamin C in Pineapple, promotes collagen secretion. More collagen means reduces wrinkles and fine lines.

Honey Mask

Take a ripe Banana, a spoon each of Yogurt, Rose Water and Honey. Mash the banana and add the other ingredients to it and mix well. Apply this mixture to your face and neck and let it sit for 25 minutes. Wash off with tepid water. You can do this once or twice a week. Rich in Vitamins and anti-ageing properties, this pack is sure to give you youthful looks.

Papaya Mask

Take a few pieces of ripe Papaya and mash it to a smooth paste. Apply this paste to your face and neck and let it sit for 7 – 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water. Rich in antioxidants and papain, Papaya does a great job at exfoliating skin and promoting regeneration. You can do this twice a week for youthful skin.
