We were looking at home remedies to soothe, treat, nurture or nourish dry skin. Here are more of those and tips to get your skin back glowing, healthy and happy!
Chamomile
A soothing anti-inflammatory, it’s also a natural moisturizer and used for treating bruises and allergies. You can make a tea using Chamomile flowers and apply it on your skin. Or you can add the tea to your bath. Make sure to use floral or woodsy aroma along with it if you’re opting for a bath. While Chamomile does a world of good, smelling good isn’t one of it’s properties!
Calendula
We all know nothing beats Calendula when it comes to healing. Rich in natural oils and flavonoids, Calendula is a great skin care ingredient. Just make a paste using Calendula Petals and apply it on your skin. Wait for few minutes before you wash off. Use it regularly to nurture, nourish and soothe you skin, while restoring it to radiance and softness.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a wonderful and multipurpose herb that’s used for a variety of issues and general care and maintenance. It’s not just good for skin, but also hair and widely used in Ayurveda in a lot of preparations for internal consumption. A great moisturizer the gel form also makes it ideal for oily and acne prone skin. The healing properties help with soothing and nurturing skin while also providing moisturization, restoring dry skin back to luster and health. Just apply the gel to your skin before you hit the bed. Done!
Papaya
Rich in skin Vitamin A, papaya protects your skin from dryness. Mash ripe papaya and use it as your mask or scrub for soft and supple skin. You can even use this daily for keep your skin nourished and moisturized.
Barley
Do you a paste made of Barley Flour, Mustard Oil and Turmeric Powder is effective at treating dry skin? Use this as your scrub to protect, exfoliate and restore skin’s radiance.
Margosa / Neem Leaves
Not only are these leaves good anti-baterial aids, they’re also nourishing and nurturing. Make a paste of Neem Leaves and apply on your skin. Let it sit for a while (till it’s dry) before washing off. This not only keeps infections at bay, but also soothes and treats dry skin.
Sandalwood Paste
Do you know Sandalwood can also help fight dryness? Just make a paste using Rose Water and Sandalwood Paste and apply it twice a week to keep dead skin cells and dryness at bay.
Spice Concoction
Do you know a concoction prepared using Fennel, Cumin and Coriander Seeds can help? Just apply the concoction on your skin and let it get absorbed. Your skin will feel nourished and moisturized. This also makes cleansing of pores and exfoliation easier.
Veggies
Make a paste of Cucumber and Tomato and use it as a mask. No time? Just rub a slice of either of these veggies to nourish and moisturize your skin. Not difficult, is it? It also improves your skin texture and tone.
