Shelf Life
Since we have added no preservatives and hydrosols are used in this recipe, I suggest refrigeration and preparing smaller batches. You can use this recipe for a month or two, so it remains fresh. However, irrespective of how many days you’ve used, if you find the cream changing in color or smells foul, discard immediately.
Why These Ingredients?
The ingredients are chosen to nurture, protect, moisturize and heal your skin. It is especially good during winter and for ageing skin.
The combination of hydrosols and oils make sure skin is soft, supple and thoroughly moisturized and taken care of.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can swap the Olive Oil for a carrier oil of your choice, including Coconut Oil.
You can also use Lavender Hydrosol, Rosemary Antioxidant Extract or other Hydrosols that are ideal for ageing skin.
I have the ingredients at a bare minimum, however, if you have a blend of oils that you prefer using here like V8, you can definitely do that too.
While whipping is optional, I noticed whipping keeps the recipe together and helps with emulsification. When just adding the ingredients together, mixing and setting aside might set the ingredients, blending helps with combining and blending better.
