DIY Rose Clay Blush

Blushes are a girl’s best friend. Whether you’re going for that blushing bride look, the rosy cheeks or just using it as your lips stain, blushes are a great way to get the job done.

However, cosmetics are now becoming a health hazard with companies using unscrupulous chemicals and toxins in beauty products. Depending on where you live and rules out there, these companies get away with everything!

I was shocked to see a long list of known carcinogens and banned ingredients in one of the popular cosmetics and these companies don’t even respond to customers if they raise a ticket on it, or reply rudely. In short, they say you can take it or leave it – what are you going to do?

I decided to leave it and take charge of my skin care and beauty requirement myself, a reason for my DIY passion. I have been doing this for a while and still learning along the way, enjoying every minute of it.

So, today I am going to share a simple and easy recipe for blush. We already spoke about this in our previous blush recipe – so here we are with your favorite pink color blush recipe.

Ingredients

Pink Kaolin Clay

Pointers for Recipe

So, that’s now why you came here and you would be extremely disappointed if that’s what we wrote here 😛 However, it can be as simple as that too.

Pink kaolin Clay is naturally pink and you can use it as your blush, however, it works better for those with a fair skin. It’s on the lighter side, so you need a little something to brighten it up!

So, depending on what shade you’re going with, White Kaolin Clay and Moroccan Red Clay can work to brighten the recipe. This will make it an all-clay recipe.

However, if you don’t mind other ingredients in your recipe – Try Beetroot Powder. It’s gives a nice bright pink hue that’s wonderful to get that flushed look. You would need about a spoon of beet powder (depending on the shade of beet powder) for about 1 Oz – 2 Oz of Rose Clay. Some beet powders are grainy. In that case, run in your blender once and sieve it for finer consistency.

Also, berry powder – you get different powders from pink – bright pink – red and violet or even darker berry shades. You could use them to color your blush.

Food Colors are a great way to add some color to your blush.

Rose Petals can give a nice pink hue and like Kaolin Clay are great for sensitive skin.

If you like some shimmer with your blush, try Mica Powders.

Get creative with your blush – a little orange doesn’t hurt anyone and gives a radiant look.

Get it to the purplish side adding some blue berry powder to it. Hibiscus Powder can also give that subtle purple to your blush.

Shelf Life

If you’re going with an all-clay recipe then the shelf life would be indefinite. Though I recommend preparing smaller batches and using it for a few weeks and then preparing a new batch.

On the other hand, if you are adding other ingredients go with the shelf life of those ingredients.

How to Use the Blush?

You can use the blush dry or wet. It can also double up as your lip stain, or even your eye shadow or highlighter.
