DIY Rose Bath Salt

Soaking up in a bath to relax and unwind after a tired day is wonderful, right? Here’s a DIY Rose Bath Salt you can use for your soaks.

So, I wanted a simple recipe, which will also help me relax after a tired day and probably, help my sore muscles. I have noticed I find it difficult to sleep, especially after a hectic day. Funny, right? You should sleep well after a tired day. But at times, it doesn’t happen. A bath soak helps me relax and sleep during those days, a reason I love them!

Not just after a tired day, a hot soak is just what you need to beat winter blues. The best part about this recipe – it is very easy and you need very few ingredients only.

Ingredients

Sea Salt – 100 Gms.
Dead Sea Salt – 100 Gms.
Edward Rose Petals – few handfuls
Epsom Salt – 100 Gms.
Lavender Buds – a few handfuls
Ylang Ylang Essential Oil – a few drops

Instructions

Dry the Rose Petals (Edward Roses are ideal, due to their relaxing fragrance, thought any rose you get, works) and Lavender Buds.

Add the salts to a mixing bowl.

Add the dried flowers – you can add more or less, according to your preference.

Add a few drops of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil and mix well to combine.

Transfer contents to a sterilized jar.

How to Use the Salt?

Add handful of salt to your bathtub and enjoy a hot soak.

Worried about the flowers clogging your drain or making a mess you have to clean up? Add the salt to a muslin cloth and tie it up and add it to your bath. This way, the flowers remain in the cloth and the salt gets dissolved in the water. You just have to remove the bag and discard the contents – no mess, no fuss ☺ Don’t worry, you will still get the flowers and their fragrance even if they’re in a bag.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can also add Himalayan Salt, or any other salt you prefer. If you don’t get Dead Sea Salt, just use your Sea Salt or Rock Salt.

You can also use Peppermint, Eucalyptus or even Wintergreen Essential Oils instead of Ylang Ylang or along with it, to help with sore or aching muscles.

The Essential Oil, or even the type of salt is your preference. You don’t have to go for exotic materials, just whip up with something with what’s in your pantry – it works ☺

If you want, you can a few spoons of dendritic salt to prevent clumping.

You can also add other ingredients depending on your purpose – ginger for detox, oatmeal for soothing, baking soda for scrubbing, etc.
