Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can substitute the Mango Butter with Kokum Butter or Cupacu Butter, they’re anti-aging too and extremely nourishing.
You can use Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil or even Coconut Oil instead of Avocado Oil, though I find Avocado best for aging skin.
You can whip the ingredients if you prefer a whipped consistency, instead of a creamy consistency.
You can add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance and added benefits. Frankincense, Lavender, Chamomile, Rose, Geranium and Ylang Ylang are good options.
Why These Ingredients?
Mango Butter
Intensely nourishing, it is also rich in Vitamins E, A and C. These Vitamins help fight free radicals and also protect your skin from sunburn. It also leaves your skin soft and smooth. Buy mango butter that is extracted by natural means without using heat, for best results. Heating destroys key nutrients and benefits.
Coconut Oil
It is extremely hydrating, healing and rich in antioxidants that promote anti-aging. It promotes cellular regeneration and evens out your skin tone.
Shea Butter
Rich in Vitamin A, it is also extremely moisturizing. It improves skin texture and fights skin issues like eczema, blemishes, wrinkles, dermatitis, etc. It soothes your skin and offers nourishment and moisture.
Avocado Oil
It moisturizes your skin and promotes collagen production. It also prevents and helps curb skin issues like eczema, dry and flaky skin, etc. It brings down aging skin signs like wrinkles, fine lines, etc. An ideal oil for mature or aging skin.
Evening Primrose Oil
Rich in Omega 3 Fatty Acids, it is one of the best oils for your skin. It soothes irritated or dry and skin and being rich in Vitamins E & C, curb aging skin signs. It is particularly good for aging or mature skin, since it promotes skin regeneration.
Vitamin E Oil
It is an excellent natural preservative for DIY cosmetics and also an excellent skin emollient.
How to Use it?
Massage the cream around your eyes gently before hitting the bed. Applying this religiously every night keeps aging skin signs at bay.
