DIY Easy Brown Mascara

Mascara has become a staple for many. Mascara makes lashes look longer, thicker and defined. As promised here’s the easier version for Brown Mascara.

Applying it also brings out the best in your eyes. What’s not to like about it? Do you know you can prepare Mascara real quick with just few ingredients? The best part – it is not only natural but can also work well for your lashes. We’re going to prepare a brown Mascara this time and with very few ingredients. Ready everyone?

Ingredients

Castor Oil – 1 Tsp.
Coconut Oil – 1 Tsp.
Aloe Vera Gel – 1 Tbsp.
Beeswax – ½ – 1 Tsp.
Cocoa Powder – 2 Tsps.

Instructions

In your double boiler heat the beeswax, coconut oil and castor oil together.

If you don’t have a double it’s easy to make a makeshift double boiler. All you need are two vessels – one large pan and a bowl. Fill the larger pan with an inch of water and place the bowl in it when the water begins to heat up. Now, add the ingredients you want to melt and voila!

Once the ingredients melt add the Aloe Vera Gel to it and mix well to combine.

The ingredients will combine well and blend together.

Add Cocoa Powder and mix well.

Transfer to a sterilized Mascara Tube and use as needed.

Done!

Tips

Always use organic and fresh ingredients when preparing natural makeup products. Eyes are very sensitive and you should be careful what you put around your eyes.

If you are using fresh Aloe Vera Gel make sure you rinse the Aloe Vera Gel before adding to the recipe. You can add a dash of Vitamin C and E and whip the Aloe Vera Gel in your blender before you add it here.

You can also use organic mineral makeup pigments instead of Cocoa Powder.

Shelf Life

Don’t keep this for more than 3 – 4 weeks. However, if you notice difference in smell or texture, discard it. I recommend preparing smaller batches for a week or two at most.

How to Use the Mascara?

Use the Mascara like you would any regular Mascara. Apply with your brush. If you apply the Mascara after grooming your lashes it looks better and makes applying Mascara easier.

You can also use this as your eyeliner for a change.

Dusting this with eyebrow filler can make your lashes look thicker and prevent smudging – if any.

Who Can Use this Recipe?

Anyone not allergic to the ingredients listed can use it. It looks good on neutral skin tones. It suits those with brown eyes well. However, being a universal color like black, anyone can use this.
