Come winter, skin feels really dry and dull unless cared for. A winter day cream can do just that and keep your skin moisturized, protected and soft during winter.
I wanted my winter day cream to be a moisturizing and nourishing cream, but also one that combats ageing skin signs and keeps inflammation or bacterial infestations at bay. I have chosen the ingredients accordingly. Let’s take a look at the recipe, shall we?

Why these Ingredients?
Rich in fatty acids, Vitamins C & E Sea Buckthorn oil is not only a nutrition powerhouse, it is also a great healing and rejuvenation aid for fighting ageing skin signs. It is also anti-inflammatory & antibacterial so keeps skin issues like acne at bay. It is soothing and keeps skin moisturized and nourished.
Coconut Oil is an antimicrobial and antioxidant rich making it one of the most affordable but effective skincare aids. We have covered a lot about it and needs no introduction here.
Olive oil is another ingredient we are familiar with and needs no introduction.
Grapeseed Oil and Shea Butter are excellent skin care aids. Grapeseed Oil is a light but very nourishing and rejuvenating oil that you can add to your DIY recipes.
Vitamin E Oil is added as a preservative and the Essential Oils are not only for aroma but also for their anti-ageing benefits and soothing properties.
Glycerin is a moisturizer and keeps skin soft and supple.
How to Use the Winter Cream?
Take a small dollop and massage into your skin using your fingers – upward circular strokes.
You can use this daily to keep your skin soft and supple during harsh winters.
Winter is a tough time and skin needs special care and attention to keep dryness at bay. A combination of hydrosol, oils and butters keep the skin nourished, moisturized and protected. I have noticed that the addition of hydrosol or water-based ingredient makes the recipe foolproof as a skincare aid for winter.
