Mature skin needs special care and ingredients. Do you want to whip up a body butter that can rejuvenate and restore your skin?
Body Butter is an ideal option during winter, which leaves one’s skin dry, flaky or chapped. Different individuals have different reactions, but dryness is most common. Your skin needs extra moisture, nourishment and intensive care during this season.
Protecting one’s skin during winter is another way to delay ageing skin signs like wrinkles, fine lines, etc. This luscious body will not only nourish and moisturize your skin, it will also curb ageing skin signs and rejuvenate your skin.
Preparing this butter is quite easy and it should hardly take 30 – 40 minutes skipping waiting times. Besides, it is natural and quite rich, making it ideal for winters and mature skin. Within few minutes of application, your skin will feel soft and supple. Ready for the recipe?
Ingredients
Sweet Almond Oil – 8 Tbsp
Shea Butter – 8 Tbsp.
Mango Esential Oil – 15 Drops
Argan Oil – 10 Drops
Mango Butter – 8 Tbsp.
Instructions
In a double boiler, melt the butters.
When fully melted, remove from heat and add the almond oil.
This will also drop the temperature of the mixture. Now, add the essential oil and Argan oil.
Stir to combine the ingredients and refrigerate it for a few minutes.
When the mixture is cool, take it out and use a stand-in blender or mixer to whisk the ingredients.
You should whisk in medium – high till the mixture becomes soft, creamy and fluffy.
Transfer to a sterilized airtight jar and use as needed.
Shelf Life
This should last a good six months or more, depending on the shelf life of the ingredients you have used for preparing the body butter.
How to Use it?
Massage the body butter into your skin with gentle upward strokes. Feel like papering your skin anytime? Feeling high and dry after a shower? Or even as a regular nighttime nourishing routine, use this body butter for youthful and supple skin.
Why go DIY?
We have discussed this quite often, but preparing your own skincare products can seem intimidating. There’s no reason to panic or worry. This is a very easy and simple recipe that you can start as an amateur, even.
But when you prepare your own skin care products, you have flexibility to tweak to your preference or liking and also, know what goes inside your jar! Don’t you want to know?
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use Kokum Butter or even Cupacu Butter in the recipe. They’re also anti-aging like Mango Butter and Shea Butter. I picked Mango Butter for that Mango aroma, though you can always tweak to your preference.
You can use Apricot, Avocado, Coconut, Carrot Seed or even Pomegranate Seed Oil or Evening Primrose Oils. They are all anti-aging oils.
Likewise, you can use Frankincence, Myrhh, Neroli or even Lavender Essential Oils instead of Mango Essential Oil.
Why These Ingredients?
The ingredients chosen are anti-aging and suitable for mature skin, or damaged skin that needs rejuvenation, repair and restoration. However, you can pick and choose suitable and similar alternatives according to your preference.
The ingredients curb or reduce aging skin signs and prevent premature ageing skin signs like fine lines, wrinkles, etc.
