DIY Eczema Body Butter

Ingredients

Shea Butter – ¼ Cup
Calendula Oil – 6 Tsp.
Coconut Oil – ¼ Cup
Neem Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tsp.
Castor Oil – 1 Tsp.
Tea Tree Essential Oil – 10 Drops
Geranium Essential Oil – 10 Drops

Instructions

Melt Shea Butter, Coocnut Oil and Neem Oil in your double boiler.

When fully melted, remove from heat and let it cool down.

You can refrigerate it for a few minutes – make sure it isn’t hardened, just cooled down and little opaque.

Now, add it to your blender, or use your hand blender to whip the mixture.

When you are whipping, slowly introduce the Calendula Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Essential Oils into it.

Whip them all till the mixture is fully fluffy.

Transfer to an airtight sterilized jar and you’re done!

Shelf Life

It lasts for about 2 months in normal room temperature and more if refrigerated.

Make sure you use a clean and dry spatula to scoop out ingredients for use.

Refrigerating while extends the shelf life, brings down the fluff that you took pains to get by whipping, come down a notch.

How to Use It?

Just apply on the affected area and gently massage it in with circular and soft strokes.

Do a patch test before you use and if you are allergic to any ingredients listed here, check for suitable alternatives and use them instead.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use Chamomile Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Myrrh Essential Oil, Thyme Essential Oil, Bergamot Essential Oil, Clove Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Turmeric Essential Oil, etc. You can swap this for the Essential Oils listed in this recipe, if you prefer one of these to the other.

You can use other carrier oils like Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Baobab Oil, Jojoba Oil, Borage Seed Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, etc.
