DIY Eyebrow Fill

Not everyone is blessed with a generous brow, or you probably like a bit of volume or visibility. If you are looking for adding volume to your brows, emphasizing your brows or darkening light brows, Eyebrow fill can do it for you.

Have you tried using Eyebrow fill? When I went hunting for one, I hardly found many options. I also wanted a brown brow fill and not black, which is available everywhere! Besides, I also did not like that the few options were loaded with chemicals and I was wary of putting stuff I don’t know so close to my eyes. So, I decided to make one for myself.

Ingredients

Cocoa Powder – 1 Tsp.
Activated Charcoal – 1 Tablet / Capsule
Arrowroot Powder – ½ Tsp.
Castor Oil – ½ – 1 Tsp.

Instructions

Add all the powdered ingredients to a mixing bowl.

Use a spatula and combine manually without any lumps.

Slowly add in the Castor Oil and when the consistency is right, stop adding more oil.

After mixing thoroughly (aka no lumps), transfer to a sterilized jar and use as needed.

How to Use It?

Dip your applicator brush into the Eyebrow Fill jar and tap excess. Apply on your brows using the applicator brush gently. Start with less and if you want, you can always add more. If you notice the color being uneven, stir it to combine the ingredients evenly and you’re all set again!

Why These Ingredients?

Castor Oil can strengthen your brows and improve your brow volume naturally. If your brows are thin, applying Castor Oil regularly can help boost brow growth. That’s why I have used it and not other oils.

Cocoa Powder and Charcoal Powder are natural ingredients that don’t harm your brows. You can work out the ratio according to your skin and hair color. I like darker brown, so have added Charcoal Powder along with Cocoa Powder. However, for a more lighter and true brown, you can go with Cocoa Powder alone.

You can add a few drops of Vitamin E Oil to this, for improving the recipe’s shelf life for added benefits.

You can also add a few drops of your favorite Essential Oil for added aroma and benefits.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use any carrier oil including Coconut Oil, if you don’t prefer, or can’t use Castor Oil. Castor Oil is cooling and can be problematic for those with sinus or similar conditions, at times. So exercise caution!

You can also use Instant Coffee Powder for a richer brown than what Cocoa Powder gives. Instant Coffee Powder is finer and hence easier to apply, than ground Coffee Beans. Who doesn’t love the smell of coffee, what do you say coffee lovers?

You can use Cornstarch instead of Arrowroot Powder, though I prefer Arrowroot Powder because it is suitable for those with sensitive and acne-prone skin types.
