It gives a peachy glow to your lips, and goes well with warm skin tones, though you can also use this as your eye shadow! I have tried both and they work well. So, let’s look at the recipe and take it from there.
Ingredients
Sericite – 6 Parts
Zinc Oxide – 2 Parts
Magnesium Stearate – 1 Part
China Clay – 1 Part
You can prepare the base with the above given ingredients and use them in your mineral makeup recipes. That’s what I do.
Satin Gold Mica – As needed
Peach Gold Mica – As Needed
Light Gold Mica – As Needed
Shea Butter – ½ Tsp.
Avocado Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Instructions
In a double boiler, melt the Shea Butter and Avocado Oil.
When the Shea Butter melts and combines with Avocado Oil, remove from heat and set aside.
Now, add the make up base and mica mixture. Once you get the right shade, transfer to a gloss dispenser and set aside.
Use as needed!
Depending on how much base you make, you will need to add the mica and alter the ratio to get the right shade. I go with the ratio of 3:1:1 for peach mica, satin gold mica and light gold mica. It turns out perfectly. Once you get the shade right, now it is time for preparing the gloss.
Important Points
I use the makeup base for multiple recipes and hence I prepare it in large quantities and just make the recipes, as and when I need. I have a few bases that I use – this is my favorite. I recommend you preparing the base separately and bottling it for your future recipes if you are into DIY Mineral Makeup.
When I mix the shimmers, I usually keep it a tad darker, so when I mix it with the base and gloss, it turns out right. However, the intensity of the shade differs with every person. Feel free to play around with the ratio – only you will know what works for you best.
I prefer a slightly creamier base, so I don’t use beeswax unless I am looking for a slightly harder version of gloss that I can use from a lip balm dispenser. Choose what consistency works for you – at the end of the day, your comfort and taste tops everything. If you are looking for an oily base, you can skip Shea Butter altogether.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use any color pigment of your choice instead of golden, depending on your requirement, preference and skin tone. This suits for warmer skin tones if you are using it for your lips, especially. So if this isn’t your cup of tea, use other color pigments.

If you want a sturdy gloss that you can just roll along like a lip balm, add ½ Tsp. of Beeswax.
You can completely skip the Shea Butter and just stick with Avocado Oil if you prefer an oil base, but I keep it slightly creamier for better moisture and also because, it doesn’t bleed easily.
