Stir till the ingredients combine and whisk briskly till the ingredients become a smooth mixture.

Remove from flame.

Now, sprinkle in zinc oxide and clay till you get desired coverage.

Since these ingredients are white, the mixture would be pale, but you can change that quickly when you begin adding mica and cocoa powder.

Once you get the desired shade, you can whisk the mixture to combine ingredients thoroughly and transfer the foundation to a sterilized jar.

How to Check for Coverage & Shade?

Try dipping your spatula into the foundation you have prepared and apply it on your forehead to check for coverage and shade – a shade that is suitable for your skin tone is ideal.

How to Store It?

You can sterilize any old makeup box you have and use it for this purpose. You also use a squeeze tube for making handling easy and to avoid contamination. A little or a small dollop that’s pea-sized is all you need!

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

It is not liquid in consistency like the store-bought ones, though you change the consistency by reducing or avoiding clay.

You can use Jojoba Oil if you don’t have Argan Oil. The consistencies are pretty similar.

Zinc Oxide is for coverage and works to conceal blemishes and also protects your from sun. It is optional if you use sunscreen or concealer.

Instead of the first five ingredients, you can use a lotion with sun protection and use your foundation powder, combine both and get a liquid foundation. You can use the foundation powder or lotion recipes we have shared earlier.

If you don’t prefer cocoa powder you can substitute it with red sandalwood powder (ideal if you have oily or acne-prone skin) or red Moroccan clay. However, the shade might be slightly different than cocoa powder.

If you have lighter skin tone, you can reduce or skip cocoa powder altogether and stick with French clay or cornstarch or arrowroot starch powders.

Since both Argan and Jojoba Oils have Vitamin E, you won’t need Vitamin E oil for improving shelf life of this recipe.
