Want to give your skin a good jolt and get a radiant look? Did you know you can get both with coffee?

I had some coffee grounds that I did not use effectively, so was wondering how I can use without feeling bad about discarding it without extracting the coffee fully. That’s how I decided to try this scrub and tweak the normal coffee scrub I use to make it better.

We all know Coffee is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells while waking up our skin. So, what’s the tweak that made this all the more better? Let’s find out!

Ingredients

Coffee Grounds – 1 Tbsp.

Unsweetned Yogurt – 1 Tbsp.

Licorice Root Powder – ½ Tsp.

Honey – 1 Tbsp.

Instructions

In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients from the list.

You can add more or less Yogurt or Honey for getting the right texture for this mask.

Once the scrub consistency is right and the ingredients are mixed up well, you’re done.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can add a few drops of Essential Oil to this recipe. I did not add as coffee gives a really nice aroma that doesn’t need additional help from essential oils for aroma.

You can substitute Yogurt with Buttermilk or Milk or even Water if you do not prefer, or have Yogurt handy.

You can add Rice Powder or Oatmeal if you’re using water / buttermilk and need to stabilize the scrub.

You can also add herbs or other ingredients including salt as per your requirement.

How to use the Scrub?

Apply this scrub on your face and neck, or skin surface you want to exfoliate.

Gently massage for a few seconds to exfoliate gently and let it sit for 7 – 25 minutes.

Gently wash off with tepid water and use this mask once every week for supple, soft and radiant skin.

Why These Ingredients?

Coffee Grounds – it is rich in antioxidants but also good to remove dead skin cells, diet and oil from your skin’s surface. It also gives your skin a lift and makes your skin look fresh.

Yogurt – Rich in lactic acid and other nutrients including healthy fats and protein, it makes your skin smooth and shiny. It gently lightens your skin and rejuvenates your skin.

Honey is a gentle cleanser, but also tightens and hydrates your skin. It leaves your skin clean and moisturized.
