Who doesn’t love dewy makeup right? It gives a nice shiny and fresh look and is a stuff of dreams for many.
If you thought it’s a look reserved for Hollywood stars, think again! With this DEWY makeup up recipe, you
can also sport dewy finish. How cool is that?
One of my friends who’s a beautician shared this recipe with me. I hope you like this and find it useful, just like my friends who were the guinea pigs for this recipe ☺ Let’s get started, shall we?

Sericite (Silica Treated) – 1 pinch
Satin Gold Mica – 1 teensy tiny pinch
Sericite (Lysine Treated) – 1 pinch

Magnesium Myristate – a pinch

Now, add the sericite and mix again.
Once combined and fully merged without any streaks or lumps you’re done.
Transfers to a sterilized container and use as needed.
Who Can Use this Base?
It looks good for those with flawless skin as it really draws attention to your face and gives you a radiant look while adding a hint of shimmer. The silica can cover up fine lines and give a smooth finish, though with blemishes, it’s a good idea to use concealer so you look your best with this added 😉
How to Use the Base?
You can use this makeup base for all your face makeup recipes. Just remember this gives a radiant, satin-like dewy finish with a hint of shimmer. So recipes that call for a base can work well, if you’re going for dewy finish.
This can also double up as a dusting powder and you can add the mica pigments according to your skin tone.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use equal parts of Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, but I like the sheeny finish that comes with Titanium Dioxide better and opted for it.
You can choose the mica pigments according to your taste and preference – the idea is to get a fairly neutral base with satin or pearlescent pigments for that soft and radiant finish. However, you can also use normal mica pigments if you don’t prefer or get pearl or satin pigments.
You can opt for other color pigments too. I prefer the light golden over white or silver as it looks more obvious for my skin. Wine pink, Beige, Golden Brown, Brown or even silver and white are options you can consider for this base.
Shelf Life
All the ingredients are dry and you can determine the shelf life by checking the shelf life of the ingredients you’re using and go with the one that has the shortest.
However, I prefer preparing smaller batches every other week for keeping it fresh and crisp.
