DIY Rose Night Cream for Radiant Skin

Night Cream can be more than just for rejuvenation. This one adds a nice glow to your skin and keeps it soft and supple. So, ready for the recipe?

The recipe is fairly simple and straightforward. Not much of work involved, so anyone can get it done. Let’s take a look at the ingredients first.

Ingredients

Aloe Vera – 1 Tsp.
Rose Water – 1 ½ Tbsp.
Beeswax – ½ – 1 Tsp.
Olive Oil – 3 Tbsp.
Green Tea Extract – 1 Tsp.
Sweet Almond Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Rose Essential Oil – a few drops
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tsp.

Instructions

In your double boiler, melt together Beeswax, Olive Oil and Sweet Almond Oil.

Once fully melted, remove from heat and set aside.

Let it cool down – or refrigerate for a few minutes. The mixture should be fairly opaque, but not fully hard.

Now, add the mixture to your blender along with Vitamin E Oil and start whipping.

Slowly add the Green Tea Extract, Aloe Vera Gel and Rose Water as you continue to whip – add about a spoon every time.

When the ingredients are combined well and emulsified, add in the Rose Essential Oil and continue to whip for a second or two.

Transfer to a sterilized jar.

How to Use the Cream?

Massage into your skin in circular upward strokes at night, after cleansing. Apply to your face and neck.

You can also use this during the day. Though the relaxing scent lures you to sleep at night, you can use it as a moisturizer during the day too.

Why These Ingredients?

The Rose Water in this recipe, along with Rose Essential Oil give a nice flushed look and make you look glowing.

I also like how this recipe moisturizes your skin and leaves it soft and supple.

With rejuvenating ingredients like Rose Water and repairing ingredients like Green Tea Extract, it can also keep ageing skin signs at bay.

Rich in nutrients and hydrating agents like Aloe Vera, this is an all-purpose cream for more reasons than one.

Tips to Tweak The Recipe

You can use any Carrier Oil in this recipe, or even use Anti-Ageing Oils like Avocado Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, etc.

Choose the Essential Oils that work best for you. Myrrh, Lavender, Sandalwood, Geranium, Frankincense, etc. are a few choices you can consider.

You can alter the ratios of the ingredients in the recipe according to your requirements.

Shelf Life

Even though we have added Vitamin E Oil and emulsified the recipe, we’re not using any preservatives. For this reason keep your batches small and refrigerate after use. While the whipping effect does go down with refrigeration, you don’t want your cream to go rancid. I prepare a batch for every 3 – 4 weeks.

Like any DIY Recipe we have here, try out a few tweaks and come up with your very version of the recipe. That’s half the fun right?
