There are numerous make-up removers on the store aisle, but what’s best? What’s suitable for your skin? So many questions, and very less answers. Right? Here’s a DIY make-up remover recipe you could try instead.
There are different types of make-up and different types of make-up removers are suggested for each. Most brands recommend their own variants but they all cost a fortune. Besides, who wants to own ten different make-up remover variants? Right? So, I came up with a few recipes you can choose from and they all work equally well to remove all kinds of make-up and the best part – they’re natural. Ready for the recipe?
Olive Oil – 4 Tbsp.
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Witch Hazel – 2 Tbsp.
In a sterilized jar, add the ingredients and shake to combine. Use as needed!
Of course, it is as simple as this! Wondering why? Remember: Oil is a very good cleanser and cleanses most make-up including tough oil-based or waterproof make-up. What more can you ask for?
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use any carrier oil instead of Olive Oil. Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Sweet Almond Oil are the options I have tried with good success.
Adding Witch Hazel is optional. You can add equal quantity parts of Witch Hazel and oil, depending on the Witch Hazel you use.
You can also add a few drops of essential oil for added benefits and aroma.

Why These Ingredients?
As mentioned earlier, oil is a very good cleanser for skin. Why do think oil cleansing is a hit? You can remove even stubborn make-up with a cotton ball dipped in oil! When I am beat and tired, I usually dab a cotton ball in oil and wipe off the face off make-up – no washing, no fuss!
Witch Hazel has loads of benefits especially for acne-prone or oily skin. Besides, it also makes up with make-up remover effective. What’s not to like about it?
Vitamin E Oil replenishes the skin after being soaked up in cosmetics for a day and rejuvenates the skin. That’s one reason I always add it to my night routine.
How to Use It?
I use a small piece of cotton, or a cotton ball dabbed in this make-up remover to wipe off make-up from my face and neck. Done! Isn’t it easy? In case the make-up doesn’t come off (it’s rare, I swear!), repeat the process. However, let me tell you – I have never had to repeat the process this far.
