Rose is one of the most sought after flowers and it’s not uncommon to find a few flowers lying in your home, or in your garden if you love gardening. Do you know it’s a great skin care ingredient and can do wonders for your skin?
I always loved how Rose leaves my skin soft, silky and fresh. It is also a great aid when nothing works to soothe your skin dryness, or curb wrinkles and fine lines or just when you need a lift me up real quick for your face. Do you really wonder that these are just a few things rose can do for your skin, after all, if it wasn’t one of the best ingredients out there why would Queen Cleopatra trust her skin with it?
Having that said, I am going to show a very simple recipe today but one that can do wonders for your face in more ways than one. With summer closing in, what better way to cool off some steam than with Rose while pampering your skin?
Ingredients
Rose – 3 Flowers
Milk – ½ Cup
Hone – ¼ Cup
Rose Water – 6 Tsps.
Rice Powder – As needed
Orange Rind – 1 Orange
Instructions
Remove petals from the rose and set aside.
In a small pan add some water and heat it. When the temperature is slightly more than warm, but not boiling, switch off the heat. You can bring it to a boil if you prefer though, in that case, add Rose Petals a little later.
Add the Rose Petals to the water and close with a lid.
Let it sit for a while – the water gets infused with Rose Petals & .
While the water is infused warm up the milk in a small pan along with Rose Water & Honey.
Remove from heat when warm and set aside.
Now add in Rice Powder and make a paste – paste should be the consistency of mask so it’s easy to apply on your skin.
Done.
How to Use the Mask?
Apply the paste you prepared as a mask for your face & neck or skin. Apply a thin layer on your skin and let it sit for 15 – 25 minutes – depending on how thick or thin you apply so it can dry while nurturing your face.
Wash off the mask using the infused water you prepared, or rinse off your face and splash the water as a final rinse.
Pat dry.
You can use this on your skin, not just face and neck. This is a great way to soften and lighten your skin.
Why These Ingredients?
Like mentioned earlier, Rose is used for a while for it’s many skin benefits. It is said Rose also makes the skin soft and silky. Earlier, women used Rose to make their skin soft, light and silky to touch.
Honey helps in adding moisture and nourishment to the skin.
Orange lightens your skin, reduces skin tan and pigmentation.
Milk is another ingredient that makes skin soft, light and curbs ageing skin signs.
Overall, this pack not only makes your skin lighter and soft, it also keeps your skin supple and reduces ageing skin signs with regular use.
You can swap Rice Powder (not rice flour, rice powder is finer) for Wheat Flour in the recipe without compromising any benefits.
