What’s the best thing to Pumpkin Spice for the holiday season? Why, apple pie of course! I thought it was time to pay ode to this classic spice mix and what better way than to incorporate in a lip balm. Right?

So next in the line of lip-smacking natural goodies for this festive season – Apple Pie Lip Balm. I wanted to do more than just include Pumpkin Spice and Apple Pie Spice and Gingerbread Spice were my next options. That’s how I chose this flavor for my lip balm – who doesn’t love apple pie right? Since we can’t eat it everyday, we can satisfy our cravings with goodies like this 😉

So, ready for this sumptuous recipe everyone? Let’s look at the ingredients first.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

The beeswax – oil ratio is what you’re comfortable with. It can be anywhere from 1:3 – 1:6 depending on the consistency you like.

You can also add Vanilla Essence to this recipe.

Instead of Essential Oils you can also use Spice Drops or even the Spice Mix directly.

I like the shimmer Mica can give the recipe but you can also use Iron Oxide Pigments that are much deeper in color. However, they don’t give shimmer. If you prefer some shimmer, you can also add Mica along with Iron Oxide Pigments – there are silver, white or even gold mica to choose from.

You can use any essential oils or flavors or color pigments you like – it’s your recipe for you or your friends. Feel free to make tweaks and changes.

You can use any carrier oil for this recipe like Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Avocado Oil, Sesame Oil, etc.

You can also add Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Candelilla Wax, Carnauba Wax, etc.

When you make any changes with the ingredients the ratio can vary slightly. You can do a few trials and errors and identify what consistency works best for you – if it turns out too hard, melt and add more oil and let it set again!
