Tips to Tweak the Recipe

I particularly love adding Beeswax to the recipe. It helps with healing and also gives a creamy texture. If you are adding beeswax, melt it along with the oils. You will need to use a hand blender for emulsification.

You can substitute Sweet Almond with Calendula Oil, Arnica-infused oil, Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil or Sesame Oil.

You can skip the tea if you don’t prefer it and go with the oils. That makes the recipe simpler.

What Happens After Going Out in Sun Unprotected?

There are times when you forget your sunscreen or sunblock, or even get tanned or sunburnt after spending a day sunbathing. Sometimes, you don’t even have to sunbathing and just a quick visit to your workplace or just about any outing can leave your skin tanned or sunburnt. There are times when the weather was warmer than you predicted and you ended up bearing the brunt.

Whatever the reasons are, if your skin is inflamed or red or angry or sunburnt, you need a soothing after-sun solution for your skin. This should moisturize, hydrate and also, soothe your skin. Once you skin is repaired and rejuvenated, your skin would no longer be angry!

Also, scarring or excessive tanning are quite common side-effects. In that case, lightening agent and healing agents will help bring down the tan and aid with reducing the scars. However, if there are scars or burns, it is ideal to wait till the skin is repaired before using skin-lightening ingredients that are harsh.

Before heading out, make sure you wear sunscreen or sunblock and choose one with SPF according to your requirement. In most cases, you will have to reapply the sun protection more than once per day. Sun or rain, sun protection is a must.
