With Pumpkin Spice from festive season still lying around, I thought a Pumpkin Spice Body Lotion is a good way to use up the remainder of the pumpkin spice.

So, I wanted to use up the remainder of the Pumpkin Spice stash I had at home. I have always like the way it smells and it reminds me of fall. What better way to celebrate it, than with a body lotion?

So, let’s get started, shall we?

Ingredients

Pumpkin Spice – 16 Drops
Olive Oil – 1 Cup
Shea Butter – 100 Grams

Instructions

Melt the Shea Butter in your double boiler.

When beginning to melt, add the Olive Oil.

Remove from heat and set aside.

Let it cool down for a bit.

Now, add it to your blender along with Pumpkin Spice drops and whip on medium – high.

When the mixture is fully combined and air is sufficiently incorporated, transfer to sterilized jars.

Let it set for a day – this is optional. The cream thickens and sets in a few hours.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can alter the ratio of the oil and butter – the consistency is purely your preference. I reduce the butter further if am looking for a lotion consistency, or a soft cream consistency.

The pumpkin spice isn’t a hard and fast rule – you can use any aroma you like. Apple Pie, Cinnamon and Vanilla, or even Essential Oils are great options.

The Pumpkin Spice liquid gives a yellow hue to the recipe, so if you don’t prefer that go for Essential Oils instead.

You can use a combination of carrier oils if you like it that way, or for their benefits. I personally prefer adding Castor Oil to my moisturizers, and Neem Oil to oils blends I use before I shower. I also like to combine Wheat Germ Oil, Evening Primrose, Vitamin E Oil and Sweet Almond Oil where I can.

How to Use the Body Cream?

Just massage into your skin in gently and using circular strokes. You can use this whenever your skin feels dry, or every morning or night, or both mornings and nights, depending on your skin requirements.

Why These Ingredients?

Wondering why? Why else? They’re natural and the best part – fewer but effective ingredients, making the entire process hassle-free and smooth!

We’re hardly using two ingredients, if you exclude the pumpkin spice. Shea Butter is an excellent food for your skin, suits all skin types, doesn’t trigger acne or breakouts, hydrating, protects your skin from ageing skin signs, etc.

Olive Oil is another Vitamin E rich ingredient that does a world of good for your skin. Taken from a fruit and used for centuries in hair and skin care, Olive Oil is one of the best ingredients for skin care.
