Anti-Ageing typically involves delaying or preventing or curbing skin signs like fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, etc. However, you don’t need to spend to a fortune to look younger. Go the natural route and look great!

I have seen anti-ageing products being launched every other day, each with different claims and a range of ingredients that claim to retain one’s youthful looks. But the bottom line is – they’re not natural and more often, when you look at the ingredient list, you will find at least one HARMFUL chemical ingredient.

Why choose products that harm your health in the longer run? Research has proven what you put on your skin affects your health and even causes cancer, depending on the consumption levels. I wanted a natural solution, one that works and is quite easy. That’s how I came up with this simple recipe, that works!

Ageing skin is usually dry, though some can still get acne well into their sixties. So, I wanted to make sure this is a balancing cream that works for everyone. Ready for the recipe?

Ingredients

Beeswax – 1 Tbsp.
Sweet Almond Oil – 2 Oz.
Argan Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Coconut Oil – 2 Tbsp.
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tbsp.

Preparation

Melt Beeswax and Kokum Butter in your double boiler.

Once they begin to melt, add Sweet Almond Oil and Coconut Oil.

When fully melted, remove from heat.

Add Argan Oil and Vitamin E Oil and stir to combine.

Let it cool down a bit and add the Essential Oil.

Refrigerate till the mixture is slightly opaque and thick, but don’t wait for it to harden.

Remove and use a hand blender to whip the ingredients to a fluffy consistency.

Transfer to a sterilized jar and use as needed.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use Candelilla Wax instead of Beeswax, but reduce the quantity, as this is a harder wax.

You can substitute Coconut Oil with any anti-ageing oils like Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, etc. I used Coconut Oil as it is affordable, suitable for all skin types, anti-ageing and most importantly, can prevent and help deal with most skin disorders.

Kokum Butter is light, anti-ageing and one of the most nourishing butters for ageing skin that’s also hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and suits all skin types. You can also use Shea Butter, or a butter of your choice that has anti-aging properties, or skip it altogether.

You can use Geranium, Rosehip, Frankincense or other anti-ageing Essential Oils instead of Helichrysum.

Shelf Life

This lasts longer six months, since we have used oils and butters only. But check the expiry date of the ingredients used and work around their shelf life to get an idea. I prefer preparing a fresh batch every two months, though, if you are busy prepare larger batches and stock. This lasts long!
